3:13pm - Day 1 Gears and Beers 3-day Canberra tour

We think @ouranu is overlooked by visitors to Canberra so we always take our bicycle tour groups through the campus of the Australian National University and we always stay longer than we expect.
This sculpture by Wolfgang Buttress is called UNA.
Buttress worked with ANU astrophysicist Dr. Daniel Bayliss to map the 9,100 stars that we can see with the naked eye from Earth and then cut them as perforations into this reflective stainless steel sphere. Inside the sphere another 2 metre diameter sphere mirror is hidden. Our second photo shows that by looking through one of the stars you can see a microcosm of our night sky. Go and have a look.
